Absolutely loved the Stobhan guest house, very cosy. The wee bathroom was was lovely, everything spotlessly clean, room had lots of tea and coffee facilities. A real home from home. Very friendly host and an utterly delicious breakfast. Situated behind the main street and all pubs and restaurants.
Tips:We came here to meet our partners as they completed the West Higland Way. The guest house is just up the hill from the finishing point, which was a great relief to the weary travellers. Lots of eateries and pubs in the wee town. Recommend a trip on the Gondolas to the top of Ben Nevis. Great location for a trip to Mallaig on the train as well. Very happy customers

Excellent experience! Slept the best of the entire week of our West Highland Way walk. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was equally good. We opted for a light continental. There was fresh fruit, several cereals as well as, tea/coffee and toast. We would definitely stay again. The innkeeper Georgio was delightful.
Tips:It's located at the top of Bank street and very close to the main street that is packed with restaurants, bars and shops. We had a late lunch at the Wildcat. It is something not to be missed. Fresh pastries and plant based foods and an amazing selection of teas. Also, consider the Loch Linnie 2 hr boat tour, an exceptional outing.

George, our host, was charming and a great cook. Full Scottish breakfast was delicious; continental breakfast available too. Beds were comfortable. Shared bathroom was large and airy. A bit hard to locate; directions would have been nice. Parking was difficult, but he offered us his parking space.

Very Frendly,helpful and knowledgeable about the area was always asking if things were OK with the room, we had the optional breakfast at £7.50 that was excellent. We had the cooked choice, with fruit juice a choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and toast we were set up for the day. Would highly recommend the Sobhahn and we would definitely go back.

Mr. Boggi, the owner and manager, was very kind, personable and accommodating and helpful in every way. He readily agreed to my checking in early. He gave me directions to and an overview of Fort William shops. On check-out day he allowed me to leave my luggage until I left Fort William at almost 4 pm and called taxis for me to book my trip to Balluchulish. His guest house was also very clean and quiet. I definitely recommend it.
Tips:I highly recommend the restaurant/pub, Ben Nevis Inn, at the foot of Ben Nevis (whether or not you are hiking the mountain). Their drinks, the views and the atmosphere are amazing, definitely well worth the drive from Fort William. I walked in after an eight-hour hike and the hostess was one of the kindest people I have ever met - she readily brought me water with ice and made a place for me although all tables were reserved.

Tips:We wanted to take The Jacobite train but it was sold out online. We went to the station before 10am, the train leaves at 10.15, and we got tickets but it is only cash payment, £57 pp. it was a lovely trip. In Mallaig we had lunch at The Tea Garden, highly recommended.

After arriving late we were greeted by our lovely host. Our room was nice, warm and clean and we we had plenty of tea, coffee and nice biscuits. The beds were comfortable and we had a good warm shower. Towels were changed daily so no need to take your own. Stobahn guest house is located five minutes from the main street but is also very quiet. We were given plenty of choice at breakfast with fruit, yogurts, fresh juice and a delicious full cooked breakfast. I really couldn't fault Stobahn guest house or the host. A real homely feel.
Tips:Fort William was nicer than I had anticipated. The locals and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The Tavern was nice for a meal and the Ben Nevis had a great menu but difficult to get a table so book ahead. A great base for exploring other nearby places too. We did the Jacobite steam train trip which was lovely but prepare yourself for the Scottish weather and carry some light waterproofs. Fort Augustus was easy to get to by local bus and from there we did a boat trip out on Loch Ness which was very reasonable priced at £18. If you do go to Fort Augustus I recommend eating at the boathouse which has great food and amazing views.

Grorgio was an excellent host, he has been in the business for many years and it shows, breakfast was of a very good standard, we had the cooked and continental, room and en-suite were very clean, room serviced daily and towel were changed on the second day. We were also provided with a parking permit for a space accross the road. We had ann excellent stay and will definately be returning in the near future. Highly recommended.
Tips:A trip on The Jacobite is a must and for a reasonably priced meal we would recommend the The Imperial Hotel.

Our stay at this guest house was very relaxing and peaceful. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. We had the cooked breakfast which was very good. Sets you up for the day. The location is up a hill at the back of the main street. A bit of a climb but there is other routes up that are not so steep. The owner was very nice and helpful.
Tips:There is plenty to do and see. Regular boat trips on the loch. Or you can take the steam train to Mallaig. Plenty restaurants to choose from. There is even a cinema showing new releases. Definitely worth a visit.

A very warm welcome. I had the downstairs room, which had a view out over the town. Two comfy chairs to relax in. plenty of tea and coffee. Very comfortable bed and relatively peaceful. Tips:The Grog 'N Gruel is a good place to eat. It has a variety of food. The water front is a nice walk even in the light misty rain. The old Fort along the water front had interesting information. Lots of different shops, from mountain clothes to book stores. It's also the start/end of the Great Glend Way and the West Highland Way.

We (2 backpackers) had a great stay at Stobahn. Very friendly and no problem with late arrival after announcement. Very friendly, he even checked for ferry transport for me after I told him that we might had problems checking timetables. On top he arranged a second stay at a different B&B (he was booked out for the second night). THANKS. There were power adaptors available. Room was clean, coffee and tee available for self service. BEST (yes, VERY BEST) VEGETARIAN BREAKFAST I got during the whole trip. LOVELY.
Tips:The fish&chips at the local "fishNchips store" look disgusting. We went out and chose the Indian restaurant on the main street (the first one when arriving from the bus station) instead. BYOB, no licence. Food is very delicious.

Had a brief but wonderful stay at stobahn after running the West highland way in June, such is the race that I could not give Giorgios a definitive arrival time and he could not have been more accommodating or pleasant. The rooms were fine and comfortable and the location is ideal for the town centre. The fully cooked breakfast was hearty and exactly what was needed and there were also options for cereal and fruit. Thus place was a diamond of a find and the next time I'm in fort William will be the first place I look for.

First of all, we were surprised to see that the B&B was so close to the town center. That was great! The room we stayed in overlooked Fort William, which was stunning, especially at night/in the morning. The room was very clean and there were biscuits and a wide range of teas to choose from, which made it even more comfortable and cozy! The bathroom was excellent too. The breakfast was very filling and we enjoyed the ‚extra‘ fresh fruit salad in the morning. What a treat. The staff were all very friendly and attentive at all times. Thank you for making our stay special.
Tips:Take the train to Glenfinnan (if you like Harry Potter) and go for a stroll. Or hike the Great Glen Way or West Highland Way.

He does have other ensuite rooms, but there was no problem sharing the bathroom at all. He even has adapters already in the room- nice touch! Friendly establishment very conveniently located in the heart of Fort William . Bus and Railway St only 5/6 minutes walk away . Breakfast is superb with a very wide choice , the full Scottish will set you up for the day ! Good value for money. On the day of departure it is possible to leave your bags there whilst you have a last minute wander.
Tips:Great way to travel to Fort William is by train . It does take 3 hours plus from Glasgow but the views are superb and give you a real feel for the beauty and isolation of the Highlands. Good little museum in Fort William examining local life and history and another explaining the geology of the area. As you would expect plenty of outdoor activities . Reasonable selection of places to eat.

Tips:The fish restaurant along the Pier,was good but quite expensive & you do need to book. We went into Weatherspoons at the end of the high street, would certainly recommend the meals here, you get a decent amount on your plate & the pints are cheap too. Try going on the Jacobite train. from Fort William to Mallaig, well worth it, if only to see Glenfinnan viaduct. If you have plenty of time it's good value for money going up to the Kingussie Highland Wildlife Park,nice gift shop,a safari trail where you can use your own car or go up on a tour in one of the mini buses.

Stobahn was very warm and welcoming, and exactly what you would expect from a B&B of this type - a great breakfast, older but comfortable decor - just what we wanted.
Tips:Stobahn is very close to the station where the Jacobite Express leaves, which was our main focus for our visit.

Nice people, very close to town, coffee and tea in the room was ample. I have stayed in 5* Hotels that don't even have tea and coffee in the room while this little place had plenty. A big thumbs up.
Tips:Its a small place so if you plan on eating out with friends book a table in advance or risk being disappointed.

Most of the bedrooms are upstairs and there is no lift. However, there is one bedroom on the ground floor, so if stairs are a problem, ask for this one!
Tips:Guest house location was ideal for our trip on The Jacobite. The recommended restaurants at The Stables and the Alexandra hotel, both only a short walk away, were excellent.

Thank you for being so hospitable and welcoming. We were exhausted and sweaty from the walk, but you showed us right up to our room and made us feel relaxed.
Tips:The guest house is up on a hill, so the views are absolutely gorgeous. The Ben Nevis Pub had great food and entertainment. The guest house is a perfect end to the West Highland Way.

I was a bit wary about booking this place as the price seemed fairly low compared with others but I decided to try it in any case. My worries were completely unfounded. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was top-class. Mr Boggi is a lovely man and I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The host Georgio is friendly, efficient, welcoming, and good in communication leading up to the stay, helping with information about transport etc. The breakfast was the best I've ever had! The view from my window was amazing, looking out o et the loch and the town. It took only 3 min to walk to from town, with steep gradient on the shortest route. Gentler longer route for cars. I would definitely come back!
Tips:Town is lovely to walk around, nice park, many eating options, good supermarket, episcopal church was open for people to walk into, museum was very interesting, visitor centre was helpful, ferry rides which I didn't have time for, and if you're a descendant of Cameron clan, then try to get to Achnacarry and the Cameron Museum, which there was no public transport to and taxi would be very expensive! You need a car for that.

Tips:If you're driving you can go to Glenfinnan viaduct to get great pictures of the train and then rush over to Glenfinnan Station to see train up close. Can even walk through the cars. It stops there for about 1/2 an hour.

Charming little B&B run by a sympathetic, elderly Italian gentleman. Nice views over the bay from the rooms upstairs.
Tips:High street with all its shops and restaurants is just 3 minutes down the hill on foot. However I'd recomend Cobb's just next to the big roundabout, across from the train station, for good meals at competitive prices, a solid selection of beverages, and excellent staff.

Tips:St. Andrew's Church, down the street from the Fassifern Road (the street on which the guest house is located) is beautiful. The architecture and the serenity of the place are quite something.

But if you approach it from the High Street, you do have to climb up some fairly steep steps to reach the B&B at the top of a hill. I had only a small suitcase, but if you've got more luggage you might struggle if you try to get there by this route.

Location is really good, overlooking Loch Linnhe and Fort William, 5 minutes walk from town centre. The room was really clean and confortable, perfect to get back to after a long day trekking. Giorgio, the owner, is wonderful, very friendly and always with an interesting story to tell, making our short stay something we will not forget very soon, and probably having us coming again next year at his house.
Tips:The Grog and Gruel, Steall Falls, Cronnag Cruises, if you have a car be sure to drive to Morar and Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Front rooms have a nice view of Loch Linnhe. Like most B&B's, rooms and baths are not spacious, but are adequate. Caroline was very friendly and helpful.
Tips:Steam train to Mallaig was very scenic and worthwhile. Ft. Wiiiam has a very nice walking area with shops and pubs, which is an easy walk from the Stobahn House.

Tips:On a Friday night, when Fort William is a popular stop on the journey between northern Scotland and England, the local eating places struggle to cope with demand and long waits were reported after 7pm. So eat early or plan for fish and chips overlooking the loch if the weather is kind.

Mr Boggi met us on arrival with a very genuine smile and a clear desire to ensure we were happy to stay with him. We were not disappointed. Our room was a good size and had sufficient space for a small sofa by the window to enjoy the loch view. En-suite was clean and the shower powerfully hot. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. The tea was particularly tasty. We will definitely stay with him again.
Tips:The Weatherspoons pub can get extremely busy with seating a grab it if you can find it affair. Be prepared to wait a while. The Saturday we visited in June, the whole town was very busy with other restaurants quoting waiting times for tables of up to one hour.
