We have just enjoyed a superb three night stay at Treetops B & B in Banavie, one short train stop from Fort William. What a find! Our hosts Jo and JJ couldn’t have been more welcoming and although Treetops is their beautiful home, it felt like a small boutique hotel thanks to the layout and decor. The first floor hallway, with its stunning picture window, even had a small sofa next to shelving with an extensive range of books and games - the guide books particularly helpful. The views of Ben Nevis from the communal terrace and also from our bedroom were simply stunning. Our bedroom itself was very comfortable with good facilities including those to make hot drinks - fresh milk in the bedroom fridge was a very nice touch. We had a superb breakfast each morning with quality produce; to be asked what strength coffee from 1 - 5 we favoured, then to be served with a cafeteria of perfectly fresh coffee was an example of the lengths our hosts went to make our stay such a great experience. Beyond their warm welcome, our trip itinerary was enhanced thanks to the welcome advice of Jo and JJ - local knowledge and experience cannot be beaten!

After a walk into Fort William itself, we realised what a good choice we had made staying here - such a beautiful location with lovely canal walks and the superb Neptunes Staircase to explore. Although Glen Nevis was a beautiful local area for walking it was easy to venture further afield . We were travelling by public transport and found Banavie station close by to pick up the train to beautiful locations on both the Mallaig and Glasgow routes. So Treetops and Jo and JJ a lucky find for sure which no doubt about it made our visit to the area. We will certainly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

JJ and Jo provide a very high quality B&B. They were both very welcoming and made us feel right at home.

We had a very comfortable one night stay at Treetops which is a beautiful property set in a stunning location. JJ and Jo were very welcoming, made us feel right at home, and provided local advice and information on restaurants etc. Our ensuite room was amazing, spacious, light and airy, spotlessly clean, with a SuperKing Size Bed, and a spectacular view of Ben Nevis from our private balcony. There was a sitting area, Smart TV, fridge, and tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The breakfast was continental style with a plentiful choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, fresh salmon, various cold meats, cheese, bread, hot croissants etc. We would highly recommend Treetops as a very high quality B&B with wonderful hosts.

It's a little bit out of Fort William so if you want to have a pint then you need to be happy getting a cab, or the bus or the train. We used all three very easily but need to plan in.

This special Bed and Breakfast is tucked away in an easily accessible gem of a home. Greeted by JJ, he explains all of the amenities of the house, the area and its points of interest. The rooms are spacious and CLEAN, so comfortable with every appointment a high end hotel would have. Its proximity to the town and surrounding sightseeing spots make it perfect for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland. The morning breakfast was filled with treats of all kinds, enough to fortify us for the day. I highly recommend this warm and friendly place to stay, and really thank JJ and Jo for their hospitality!

Go see the viaduct and the Hogwart’s train at 3;00, if the car park is full, pass around again and ask the attendant as she lets cars in as they car park lets one out. The hike to observe is no more than 10 minutes and easily accessible to the beginner hiker. The town was very quiet on the Main Street, but a few spots to poke in and out of. The museum in Glencoe is definitely worth a stop, only about 30 minutes away!

Absolutely stunning . Immaculate, well presented , very friendly hosts . Views of Fort William and Ben Nevis are just breathtaking ! There is a covered balcony with chairs and blankets to sit out , the bed was enormous, the tea and coffee facilities first class with fresh coffee and a small fridge for fresh milk. Breakfast was continental but delicious with fresh croissants and freshly laid eggs. The hosts are gregarious and helpful and you’re made to feel at home in their house instantly . A first-rate B&B.....comfortable, warm, and beautifully furnished. Staff friendly, welcoming, and keen to accommodate your every need in order to make your stay the best experience it can be. Views of the Ben Nevis range are magnificent.

Be aware of being out of the main drag of Fort William and pre-book restaurants / taxis. The verandah off the Great Glen room is a glorious place to sit; well-sheltered from any bad weather with glorious views. A small fridge in the room allows easy access to cold drinks.

The ideal location for exploring the delights of the Road to the Isles, by car and train, Skye and the Highlands in general. Our hosts, Jo and John were kind, welcoming and so helpful in the suggestions and recommendations whether places to visit or eating out. The breakfasts were excellent and the bedroom very comfortable with superb views of the Ben Nevis range. We would look forward to returning in the future.

Take the train to Mallaig from Banavie and on another day drive there, stopping off at Glenfinnan before taking the ferry to Skye. Explore Fort William and its friendly shops and cafes and try the Ben Nevis Inn and Moorings Hotel for dinner.

Treetops B&B is a beautiful house in a spectacular, quiet location 3 miles from the centre of Fort William. It was our first B&B experience and it definitely set the bar high! We booked a room for 2 nights and were surprised to see such a fantastic, bright and spacious suite. The king- size bed was super comfy and the views- spectacular! The whole house was spotless. However, the best part of the experience was the hosts- very friendly, welcoming, warm and lovely people. They gave us lots of great travel advice and helpful information and also helped us with our ferry tickets. Amazing people. We will definitely be back again! Raf & Sylwia

Very welcoming hosts who are both informative about their accommodation and the many things to do in the locality. Our room was spacious, warm, very well equipped with quality amenities. Treetops is in a quiet location and has amazing views. Breakfast was excellent and varied. We will definitely return here on future visits to the area. Perfect as a base from which to travel to other parts of the NW highlands.

It was recommended to us to book evening meals during our stay as Fort William can be very busy. Our hosts sent us a great list of places to choose from and we booked the week before our stay. This proved to be a good call. Many thanks.

We only stayed at Treetops for one night unfortunately, en route to Skye but wish we could have stayed longer (and hope to return one day). The welcome from JJ and Jo was lovely, immediately felt like we were staying with family - they were so kind and friendly. The room was perfect - spotlessly clean, lovely amenities; great bathroom and shower; fresh milk (so few places provide fresh milk!) and comfy bed. And you couldn't beat those views of Ben Nevis! The location was great too - not too far from the centre of Fort William so plenty of places to eat. JJ and Jo provided a fantastic detailed list of their recommendations which was so helpful, and thoughtful - it was clear a lot of hard work had gone into it. A continental breakfast was on offer with a fantastic spread in their beautiful dining room - plenty to choose from. We would absolutely recommend Treetops to anyone who is considering it - the most wonderful welcome, perfect location, and you're sure to have a fantastic stay. Can't wait to visit again!

We have just spent one night here and it was wonderful. A balcony with a view overlooking Ben Nevis and the beautiful surrounding area was amazing. A warm friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated with a Comfortable bed, seating area and plenty of storage space. There was a good sized en suite bathroom which was clean and modern. There was a nice selection of drinks with a cute little bottle of fresh milk supplied. Also the little touches like having outside blankets so that you can sit on the balcony and wrap up warm. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Dinner at the Ben Nevis Inn at fort William was very good.

Yet another lovely stay at Treetops with the lovely hosts that are JJ & Jo. We have found that place where even after just two visits we feel so welcome and at home whilst we enjoy the stunning area of Fort william and beyond. Looking forward to our next trip already 😊

On this visit we ate at Ben Nevis Inn on the recommendation from JJ, this did not disappoint. We shall be eating there many more times in the future. Also there's a little cafe in Glencoe village which is a gem of a place with lovely homemade food. We had a couple of lunch stops there. So much to see and do with so much more to discover I'm sure.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at JJ and Jo's lovely place. The place is squeaky clean, the towels and bed sheets were super soft, the house itself and the rooms are very well-lit and beautifully decorated. There's a library with plenty of curious books to peruse. Breakfast was really nice - we especially appreciated the booking system. The views from the B&B are superb and, to top it all, JJ and Jo are really lovely and fun to talk to!

First things first - food. We had a really nice seafood meal at Crannogh and a meat based one at the Ben Nevis Inn, which we do really recommend! Secondly, we spent loads of time outdoors - Treetops is an excellent base to hike around Ben/Glen Nevis, and the short hike to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct was a very pleasant surprise (the Loch is incredible). In case of bad weather, there's also the Three Wise Monkeys indoor climbing facilities - but be sure to book in advance as we didn't find any available place!

We enjoyed a 5 night break as a family of 4. The property is well placed just outside of Fort William and is easy to find with plenty of parking. Rooms are large, comfy and clean. Fantastic views of the mountain scenery! The B&B is managed by a nice couple who create a warm welcoming stay and are clearly Passionate about what they do and take the time to speak to guests. The breakfast options are ample and a delicious Cooked breakfast is available (with haggis) each day! We couldn’t have picked a more Perfect B&B to stay. Fort William has a lot of B&B properties to choose from. I would say this is without doubt one of the best.

J&J and Jo, The B&B owners have extensive knowledge of the region and will help with ideas on where and what to do. We discovered places and views we would otherwise never have known about. Steall waterfall is worth a visit along with the visit to Loch Ness following the b-roads to Dorres. Garrison West was the best food by far in the town closely followed by Pizzas at Black Isle bar.

Tree Tops was genuinely one of the best bed and breakfasts we have stayed at for a long time. The owners JJ and Jo were hospitable, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The location is secluded yet easily accessible to local amenities. JJ and Jo take pride in their home which is reflected in the high quality and standard of accommodation, the rooms were immaculate. The overall business exceptionally well managed with use of QR codes order breakfast and useful information about Fort William in general. JJs recommendations were spot on for food and routes home (Ben Nevis Inn and Crannog). There are finer personal touches that make for a great stay too, quality Jams and branded condiments with a generous breakfast selection, Chocolate next to each bed on arrival. We will visit again and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the accommodation, great value and high quality service. Thank you both.

The property is beautiful and so clean, and our room was spacious and comfortable - we slept so well in the lovely big bed! The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful with regards to the what to do and what not to do, with excellent local knowledge and tips. They also provided good information about eating out too. The room couldn’t have been nicer, roomy or cleaner, we will definitely try to come back again, and hopefully get the room with the balcony again.

The hosts will do all this better than we can, but the Glenfinnan Viaduct was a must for us and they told us the best time to leave to see the steam train!

Beautiful room in a friendly and cosy B&B overlooking Ben Nevis. We stayed in the Great Glen and it had a beautiful view over the mountains. The breakfast was exceptional with very good quality produce. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, we throughly enjoyed our stay!

Firstly a 5 isn't high enough to answer the service/staff question above! We have returned home after 4 nights staying at treetops and we couldn't recommend it enough. Our stay here between all the sightseeing for our photography was everything we needed and more. Such a lovely couple who should be extremely proud of their accommodation. Just beautiful. The hospitality, the room, the breakfasts, knowledge of the area, cleanliness were outstanding! Thankyou so much again.

Our location was perfect, fort william, Glen nevis, glenfinnan viaduct, glencoe, Castle stalker were just a few places we visited and all within an hours drive of treetops (some very close by) many options to eat out in Fort William also.

We had a fantastic stay here at Treetops, JJ and Jo were the best hosts and could not have done anymore to improve our holiday. Our room was lovely and the breakfasts amazing. We loved it that we were a little out of town. Perfect quiet retreat.

Share your plans with your hosts as their local knowledge is so helpful whether you just want to see the sights / nature or take the Jacobite railway. We had some lovely meals out, Fort william has loads of great places to eat, but book ahead they do fill up fast.

Treetops is one of the nicest B & Bs that we have ever stayed in. Accommodation was spacious, extremely clean, beautifully appointed with spectacular views from our bedroom and sitting area (just outside our bedrooms). Breakfasts were first class too and our hosts were very friendly with loads of recommendations.

We walked to the Moorings hotel ( about 20 mins) and enjoyed a first class meal. We enjoyed hiking in the local Glen Nevis area but also enjoyed walking in the Great Glen and visiting Glenfinnan where the “Harry Potter” steam engine was filmed. You can also take this train to Mallaig which some of the other guests did.

We booked this b&b for my husband finishing the west highland way,he finished a day earlier than planned and we tried to change the booking,unfortunately there was no room but the owners offered a full refund even after the time to cancel had passed. We decided to stay in the area for a few days and kept the booking on. The room was amazing and the view on to Ben Nevis was spectacular. The room itself was absolutely spotless and very well sanitised and excellent covid precautions were in place making it feel so safe. The special touch of fresh ground coffee was very welcomed. The owners were so lovely and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding and everything felt so special and personal for us. We will most definitely be back soon.

Only a five minute drive to the town centre for food, drinks,shops and walks. Highly recommended the Loch linnhe boat cruise.

We were given a lovely warm welcome by JJ and they did really well to accommodate our veganism both at breakfast and with soya milk for tea in the room.. The room was lovely, very big, overlooking the mountains and had a really nice bathroom.

Climb the mountain early, we’re very glad we did. We were on the mountain at 7am. Large crowds coming up around 9Am. Can see train traveling over Harry Potter viaduct at 10:45 and later in the day. It’s a nice walk to viewing point.

Lovely B&B in a village close to Fort William. Wonderful room views and clean, comfortable accommodation. Great hosts and priced reasonably given the location and standard. Would recommended for guests travelling to the area!

Recommend taking the Jacobite steam train (takes you through locations used in Harry Potter films). Can queue up on the day for tickets (get to station around 0830) Nevis range mountain gondola is a nice quick way to ascend high up and do some short mountain walks. Go on a sunny fay for the best views! Steall waterfalls - lovely walk to see on one of the highest waterfalls in the UK. Best when it has rained! Glen Etive - lovely drive for wonderful views and a lake at the end! Try the wildcat restaurant for good vegan breakfast and lunch options!

Very friendly hosts, everything was very well organised to make things as safe as possible during the covid restrictions and we felt very safe and welcome. Delicious breakfasts and excellent tea tray and fridge facilities in the room. The recommendations on things to do and where to eat were very weclcome. We especially liked that JJ asked the other guests who were walking/climbing to call in when they came down just so he knew they were safe, nice touch. Very confident to highly recommended to friends and family Thank you for a lovely wee mini-break.

The Ben Nevis Inn is fabulous and was so good we didn't go anywhere else. the Jacobite steam train AKA Hogwarts Express was a pleasant experience and next day we went back to the Glenfinnan Monument which is very interesting for history buffs and those who are "Outlander" fans, like me! We timed it well and saw the train coming over the viaduct which was a great photo opportunity. Treetops is only a short distance from the Caledonian Canal and the network of canal locks called Neptune's Staircase is very interesting and it's just a lovely walk along the towpath.

Overall our stay was very pleasant. The beds were comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom excellent. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The only 2 things you could improve on would be to put a shelf or basket in the shower for guests to put their own toiletries on & to have a seat at the dressing table so you can dry your hair sat down.

The Ben Nevis Inn does lovely food and the service is good. Costs £12 each way in a taxi.

Absolutely an excellent choice of accommodations. I would without hesitation or condition recommend this to both strangers and friends. The owners are friendly but understand when people want space as well. Accommodations are fantastic and the price is fair. This is a wonderful place to stay.

The B&B offers suggestions, and theirs will be better considering it comes from locals. We do recommend at least going some of the way up Ben Nevis and walking around the downtown area. Something we greatly enjoyed was walking from the B&B down to downtown by going across the little soldier bridge.

Perfect base camp for Ben Nevis If only all B&Bs were like this. At £45/person/night & sumptous breakfasts good to climb the Ben any and everyday, pro-hosts macho JJ and lovely wife Joe make the perfect team. We’ve been to many B&Bs, travelled the world far and wide on all budget schemes as a family of 5 and rate ourselves as polite but silently critical oriental patrons used to luxury and service. Of course we arrived with our microscopes... Pre-arrival, we had attempted to cancel our 2room 3night booking by email 15hrs before check-in citing medical reasons. JJ’s immediate response was one of genuine concern followed by suggesting we contact our credit card provider if a (auto) travel insurance was possible. If not, he would charge us only 1night and proceeded to offer us another 2nights over summer (they are fully-book) to make it up. Needless to say, we chucked the doctors report and made the trip. 2.5hrs late on the sunniest and warmest day causing JJ to completely miss family day at the beach waiting to show us our rooms. He answered all our virgin questions, suggested all the best value restaurants in an email prior to our arrival & gave Dad superb crash courses in Scottish history, geography and of course whiskies. When there’s no want for anything, no reason to fault, not one phone call needed for any of us in request to our hosts over the course of our entire stay, you know they’ve got this nicked. Look, booking breakfast is via a pro-level online system, individually specified up to 9pm the night before and cooked-to order by JJ by 8am. Lady of the house, Joe is as elegant and she is sophisticated, humour she throws in for free. I would bring my mother here, if it is possible. And i would book the whole place (6guests only) at least 1 year in advance if it was half-term or summer with the grandkids. I would put mum up in room ‘Great Glen’ (see amateur picture) so she could experience Big Ben whilst sipping whiskey basking in the afternoon sun in the comfort of her suite. Jason Yeang and family. Very welcoming owners who have great knowledge of the local area and recommendations of places to see and things to do. Very simple check in / breakfast ordering process and covid-safe protocols in place. Treetops is kept in excellent condition and the room was spotless. The rooms are spacious and homely, with en-suite bathrooms. We would highly recommend staying here to any family or friends and thank JJ and Jo for a wonderful couple of days in Fort William.

We walked Ben Nevis during our stay and followed JJ’s advice to start at Achintee Road Car Park, which was very helpful advise as it cut out going to the visitor center and was much quieter to park and get organised before our walk.

We originally were going to stay elsewhere when in Fort William but unfortunately we had to move accommodation within 4 weeks of arrival due to the Covid 19 situation. The proprietors of Treetops could not have been more helpful in assisting with the movement of our original booking. We had several communications with John and Jo before travelling to ensure all was okay with arrival times etc. The room was very clean and spacious with amenities including various hot drinks and biscuits A great walk in shower / bathroom was also spacious. A fantastic breakfast including various hot and cold options each day. free car parking and assistance in booking recommended restaurants within the local vicinity was most helpful

I spent my birthday in Fort William and I am so glad that I booked a room with Treetops! The room was nice and cozy, we were very welcomed and felt like in our own home for few days. The owners are helpful with the itinerary ( tips/advise) and you can easily notice that they do care about people visiting them. The breakfast is excellent, we choose porridge and Scottish breakfast, a warm breakfast before starting the day in the nature. An excellent experience, I do recommend the place and would come back soon.

We liked the scenery, every place has a story, we liked in particular the Glenfinnan Viaduct, Ben Nevis and driving in Glen Way, Bridge or Orchy, etc. About restaurants, I would recommend the Indian restaurant - Spice Tandori, we liked this the most.
