My spouse and I stayed there only one night as were passing through after taking the Jacobite train. There are plenty of signs to find the location, so just follow the signs and you find it quickly... unlike myself who drove around like a fool. Plenty of parking, if the other guests leave enough room for you to park haha The bathrooms were very clean and we had no issues at all with using the facilities when needed. The little snacks when you walk in are nice addition to the place. The room was very nice, and the beds were very comfortable. For as many other travelers staying in the house, it was very quiet and enjoyable.

We did not stay long in Fort William, so unfortunately we did not get to see much of the town.

Nice staff and owner share bathroom might be okay for some guest (but I prefer ensuite) you more relaxed when you have ensuite otherwise wise it's a nice place if you stay in RM 4 you get Jacobite train passing about 10.15 am if you have a mobile phone you be able to film it

If you happened to stay long and have no car there is a bus stop not far there comes every hour to the town for a nice breakfast a cafe at the railway station it opens 9 am closes at 14.30 every day except Sunday

It was in a lovely quiet location with the backdrop of Nevis Glen. There was a lovely welcome message and fruit and cakes in the reception. Our room was really clean, comfortable and the beds were great. There were plenty of toiletries in the bathroom, which we were very grateful for as we were hiking and carrying all our belongings. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits as well. We didn’t book breakfast, as we were getting an early train. There was a lovely garden with table and chairs to enjoy the weather 🤞🏻😎

It is within easy distance of pubs and restaurants and also walking distance to the train and bus station.

Lovely place to stay. Nice and close to Ben Nevis and the main town in Fort William. The room we had was perfect for 4 of us that were going climbing. Great location, very helpful and friendly service! Room was clean and a delight to stay in. Owner was especially considerate, having fast responses regarding enquiries, even letting us check in much earlier. Light breakfast provided which was a pleasant surprise. Really lovely place to stay, very welcoming family but not overbearing, left to do your own thing. Don't be put off by the shared bathrooms there's enough to go around and not a issue when wanting to shower after a hard day walking, they're cleanined regularly too. Will definitely stay again

Everything was excellently arranged. A beautiful large room, where we could spend time together with our family. Neat and clean and wonderfully soft beds. We found two things a pity: that there was no table with chairs in the spacious room to play a game, for example. And that there was no water in the room. Furthermore, a perfect place for a quiet night on the way north! Thanks!

We only stayed one night in this great family room. A perfect place to stay on your way up north. Lovely spacious and neat family room. Everything well taken care of. The center within walking distance. Totally not bothered by the train track that runs behind the house. in fact: as a present we saw the Jacobite steam locomotive in the morning!

Place was quite hard to find although general area was easy using Satnav. Had to ask some locals where actual Braemar house was, could use a bit more signage. Breakfast was disappointing as we only had a kettle with tea and coffee, no food and no decaff coffee. Fortunately this wasn't an issue for us as we were getting breakfast at the event we were going to. Very clean room and comfy bed with a good tv. Shared bathroom which had plenty of supplies but we weren't sure if these belonged to other guests. We never saw anyone at the house although our stay was very short as we were there for an event in Fort William so had to leave about 0600. Overall I would recommend this B&B. Very good communication from the owner via email about getting our key which was left in the door of the room. No key needed for front door as this was unlocked.

The Braemar is quite close to the town centre so practical. It was spotlessly clean. It was a shared bathroom as on the description.

It pays to scroll right down to the bottom of the webpage as it makes clear that it is self check in and check out. If you need food heated for later in the day, it is really not practical as there is no-one available to do that. Otherwise it is fine.

Limited parking as advertised but we were lucky and with cooperation managed to park fine. One bedside light was not plugged in but managed to move bed and stretch wire (just) to plug in. Full length mirror freestanding and not attached to wall. Lovely staff. Very friendly.

Found a lovely restaurant called The Stables in Fort William. Accommodation adjacent to the railway line and so were able to see the Jacobite train pass by. We later rode on this - an excellent trip.

We easily booked a bedroom and received perfect information to self check in in the house, which was very convenient. Claire was very responsive and accomodating. The room was very comfortable and warm with a great and generous breakfast! However, perhaps we had bad luck but we didnt get hot shower either in the afternoon or following morning. We didn't signal it so may have missed something. Overall, it was a great stay! :)

Lovely big twin room facing Ben Nevis ( never saw it though..Scottish weather...😁😁) Lovely close up view of the Jacobite Express in the morning. The only small downside was the loud noise made by the fan in the toilet next door. This wouldn't normally be a hassle but one family decided to have a shower one after the other at 6am...🚿🚿🚿 A noisy but very clean bunch. 😁😁

The Guest House is very well placed for travel to Glenfinnan, Spean Bridge etc.and is only a short walk from the town which has many nice pubs, shops and restaurants.. The cinema is lovely as well and a great hiding place from the rain we had.. In my opinion Fort William is a great place to visit all the year round... Cheets

Fabulous room, very clean. Breakfast provided was really good. Amazing watching the Jacobite train going past as well. If you want a long lie take ear plugs as we did get woken early on the Sunday morning from others moving about, chatting, laughing etc (not the properties fault) but just a heads up. Location really good, we walked into Fort William town centre only took about 15mins.

Watch the Jacobite steam train passing the back of the house, leaves twice a day. We walked to Steal falls scenery was brilliant quite a rocky rough walk but definitely worth it.

3rd September 2021:

Lovely little b&b for our first visit to Fort William. Our rooms were gorgeous and designed to a very high standard. Great communication from owner regarding parking facilities. We arrived at 8.30am as we were going on the steam train, we left the car and our belongings in the car as check in wasn’t until later but the area was very secure. On our arrival back there were teas coffees pastries and tunnocks tea cakes to which our son greatly enjoyed. The rooms and bathroom (shared with other rooms) were exceptionally clean. The only slight downside is that you can hear everything going on upstairs. The noise from above our room was very noisy as someone was constantly thumping or running about and was still going on until 9.30pm. The only other thing I did notice is that there was no fire/emergency safety notice in the room. We were only there for 1 night but I’m a wee bit of a stickler for safety. Maybe the rooms could have a card showing how to and where to evacuate in the event of an emergency? All in all this was a lovely place to stay and I would recommend this place to stay and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We were a family of 3 visiting Fort William after a tiring day out. The accommodation was very comfortable and cosy. We were specially impressed with the choice of food left for breakfast. We devoured the ready to make hot porridge along with the tasty pain au chocolat. Additionally useful was the access to multiple bathrooms in the property which speeded up out timely departure next morning. The icing on the cake was the view of the Jacobite Steam train right behind the property !

Had a lovely stay at Braemar. The room was clean and lovely the host was friendly and helpful. The steam train was on its tracks about 50 metres outside the room. It starts at 9am then comes back in about 7 or 8pm ish. It is really interesting watching the steam engine men getting it ready for the public. Apart from that no trains run on the tracks, its a must for train enthusiasts. Nice clean toilets and showers. We came and went as we pleased and left our car at the B&B. It is a 15 minute nice quiet and easy walk to the train station and Fort William town centre and the many delicious eating places. When you pass on the train to go to Mallaig you can see the B&B with Braemar sign on it a nice wee touch. Highly recommended.

Plenty restaurants and a seafront a lot of boats to watch and its the end of West Highland Way walk too.

Lovely guest house, super friendly reception from Claire. Cosy room and clean bathroom.

Great location for Fort William, maybe 10min walk into town, very convenient. Very close to local shops, big M&S food etc. We visited Glenfinnan, 20 min drive away, lovely walk to the viaduct and Jacobite monument.

Confused about breakfast, as it said it was available for both days but only enough for 1 day.

Great place to stay, easy access to main routes in and out of Fort William for visiting attractions or site seeing. Steam train was great to see out the back of property. Highly recommended this place.
