A lovely well kept house, great location. We had a lovely 2 days stay. Surprised to find a fish and chip shop which carters for Gluten free a few minutes walk from the property as well as a substantial co-op.

A 10 minute walk from the house was the Neptune staircase on the Caledonian camel , well worth a visit.

La casa di Louise è davvero bella, pulitissima, accogliente, incantevole. Una manciata di minuti fuori Fort Williams, nel villaggio di Caol, tranquillo, vicino ad un pub davvero buono, il Lochi, la casa è davvero una delizia, anche più bella di quanto già ci aspettassimo. Non abbiamo utilizzato la cucina perché vi abbiamo soggiornato, purtroppo, solo due gg ma era, oltre che come nuova, fornita di tutto il necessario ed anche di più, insomma una casa top, che consiglierei senza ombra di dubbio! Louise disponibilissima, veloce nell’’aiutarci, risponderci e sempre prodiga di informazioni. Ci sono stata con la famiglia e tutti sono rimasti entusiasti di questa sistemazione. Se dovessimo tornare in Scozia, cosa che speriamo e far tappa in questa zona, senza ombra di dubbio, vorremmo poter essere nuovamente ospiti di Louise. Grazie ancora di tutto! Super raccomandato!!!!

This is our second stay and we can never fault a thing. Everything is so smooth, from check in to checkout and everything between. Location is perfect and close to everything that you need. The view of Ben Nevis is always my highlight. Look forward to our next stay.

Beautiful home to relax in after a long day of adventuring. Louise is very helpful and responsive, with lots of great local knowledge. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Loved visiting Fort William, Glencoe and Ballachulish local areas - warm and friendly hospitality and feels less touristy compared with Isle of Skye. Really beneficial to hire a car to see nearby municipalities of Glencoe and Ballachulish, though very easy to move around Fort William and Ben Nevis via taxi.

Agréable séjour dans grande maison propre et calme

Quartier un peu éloigné du centre-ville de fort william. Nécessité d'avoir une voiture et pas de restaurant pour le soir après 20h.

Merci pour votre avis qui est très apprécié. Il existe de bonnes liaisons de transports en commun vers le centre-ville de Fort William, du petit matin jusqu'à tard le soir, donc ne pas avoir de voiture n'est pas un problème pour la plupart des voyageurs. La plupart des restaurants de la région ferment pour les repas à 20 heures, ce qui est similaire à de nombreuses villes de la région des Highlands. Les plats à emporter et les épiceries sont disponibles jusqu'à 21h habituellement.

Thank you so much for your review and comments. They are very much appreciated. I was pleased to meet your lovely family and I'm glad you loved your stay in the house. The open double shower tray is now a common design feature in bathrooms in the UK. I've always found that making a minor adjustment to the direction the shower head faces will prevent any water escaping to the main floor area.

Our stay at Fàilte Mhòr was nothing but excellent. The house is very clean and cosy, so that you feel at home instantly. It is located very conveniently, so that you can explore the West Highlands easily. Also, our host was always helpful when we had any questions. Staying at Fàilte Mhòr can be highly recommended to anyone who is intending to visit Fort William and the surrounding area. A big thank you to our lovely host!

First of all, Louise is the best host. She made us (and our dog!) feel welcome, offered a home away from home. The house is situated in a calm area, near a Co-op. The house is clean, spacious, very well equiped (appliances, coffee, tea and much more) and has a nice garden and good parking facilities. From here we dod trips to Ben Nevis and Glecoe NP.

We loved our stay at Failte Mhor. Louise is a fantastic host (very gracious & reasonable to accommodate requests where necessary). The house in itself is spectacular & very modern (fittings are new, kitchen appliances are top notch, living room has excellent lounge chairs). Lovely house, absolutely ideal for our visit to the area. Spotlessly clean, modern facilities, very comfortable. We also really appreciated Louise's help with some questions and local recommendations ahead of our visit.

The local shipwreck 'Old Boat of Caol' is worth a look. Great view of the Jacobite steam train crossing the nearby bridge next to Old Inverlochy Castle with Ben Nevis in the background. Nearby walk along the canal and Neptune's Staircase is nice. Takeaway / restaurant on Fort William 'Tiger in the Wall' was excellent. Little bakery 'Bake n Roll' in Caol village makes excellent cakes.

If your doing the train trip to Mallaig and not going first class or a Harry Potter fan, I’d use the normal train, a lot cheaper. We would recommend a trip to Fort Augustus and trip on Loch Ness and the gondola up the Nevis range.

Really lovely house with amazing host who couldn’t have done more to accommodate us. Location was good but quite far out of town however easy to get taxis. Only areas for improvement in the facilities would be there’s no oven or freezer and no extractor fan plus the tv was tricky to use. This would’ve been more of an issue if we’d stayed longer but was fine for our 3 nights. The house was cleaned daily due to Covid and we really appreciated the host going the extra mile with that. Plus it’s dog friendly with a dog bed and treats provided. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend.

The house is a short walk to Neptune’s staircase and if you time it right you can walk to the canal and watch the Jacobite go past. We had a lovely meal at the crannog and also the Ben Nevis Bar. The Steall Waterfalls were also a great day out.

6th September 2021:

We stayed here for a week and this is a great place for a base if you are travelling around scotland, climbing ben Nevis or visiting Fort William. The place itself is immaculate, has 3 large bedrooms and had everything we required during our 7 daystay. The host is extremly friendly, they are covid aware and at the end of a phone should you need anything or assistance.

Within a 10 minute drive of Neptunes staircase, Ben Nevis and Fort William.

Had a lovely warm welcome from Louise and there is everything you need for your stay . We found the room to be peaceful & quiet with good quality bedding & towels .

We were hillwalking and didn’t get to accommodation till after 8.00pm and we had our own food to microwave in Failte Mhor so cant comment on restaurants etc certainly a great spot to stay if your a hillwalker

Had an excellent stay, the bedroom and bathroom were sparkly clean. We did not use the other facilities as stayed outside most of the time but everything looked modern and well looked after.

Definitely go up Ben Nevis if you have a couple of days, you can see it from the bedroom window!
