Tigh an Each B&B, Laggan Glamping & Laggan CL

15th September 2024:

We have just returned from a fantastic two weeks staying on one of the 5 Fully Serviced Pitches at the CL. On arrival at our assigned pitch (3), Joan was soon with us with a very warm Scottish welcome to ensure we were happy and to show us where all the essentials on site were and to mention the local amenities. Stevie and Joan were often seen around the site doing general maintenance/upkeep and were always happy to stop and have a friendly chat. The serviced pitches are very spacious so plenty of room for your van, awning and car with space still around the van. Reliable Free WiFi which you’ll need to use for streaming TV (we don’t watch TV so didn’t try) but good for wifi calling. Very well kept grass strips separate the pitches. Good recycling facilities. A nice grassed area in front of the pitches has a couple of picnic tables which gives you a nice place to sit and admire the scenery. It is a very peaceful site with the only sounds to be heard at night being the odd owl hooting. We had the onsite pizza delivered to our pitch on our last night here, bbq meat feast pizza, cheesy garlic bread and chilli fries - wow! Absolutely delicious! Out of all of our many trips to Scotland, this has been the best so far.

The secure dog field was great for the dogs to have a charge around in and investigate the smells - there is water running along the road edge so if, like us, you have one that cannot stay out of water, you have been warned :-) (there is no gate separating the field from the CL/rest of site, so your dog will need good recall as mentioned in the website). There are plenty of walks in the nearby area; one from almost opposite the site onto the Glen Banchor Estate; from here you can walk for miles towards Newtonmore and see nobody. Further away (within 10 miles) are some more amazing walks at Laggan Wolftrax (MTB and walking trails with cafe), Creag Meagaidh (Short, easy and long, hard trails), the Ardverikie Estate (location for Monarch of the Glen) also has some great well-paved walks alongside Loch Laggan or up into the hills. We had a day trip to the Isle of Skye which was approx 3 hours away (it was forecast to rain in Balgowan but be sunny there, and it was). Loch Ness was within reach for a day out too. Aviemore was nearby, but a bit too busy for our liking in the town but plenty of shops if you’ve forgotten anything (especially outdoor clothing).

Just returned from our stay at the beautiful Laggan CL. The site is stunning and beautifully cared for and the owners Joan and Steve are the perfect hosts. The location is outstanding in the Scottish Highlands. The view from our caravan window was amazing. The dog field was so convenient and a fantastic size for our two Irish Setters. Pizza night was brilliant, and the pizza tasted fantastic. I would highly recommend Laggan CL to anyone.

A really well managed CL site in a beautiful location. We were on Pitch 1 and all pitches are well managed and level the views from our Pitch were lovely. Thanks for the friendly greeting on arrival Joan it was lovely to meet you - We look forward to a return visit.

We were here for I night in a Motorhome, we were on Pitch 1 and all pitches are Hardstanding with water and electric at the Pitch. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Lovely site, very well laid out large serviced pitches with a super view. The dog enjoyed the exercise field and we enjoyed the pizzas!

Do try the walk up the hill just along the road from the site. We saw deer up there most days and the track leading back down to the road was very convenient. Doesn’t take much more than half an hour.

Absolutely fantastic site and location and run by the best couple you could ever meet! Our van broke down on the way to Laggan and so we were stuck on the site while we waited for the RAC. We were allowed to stay beyond our check out time and given a private place to park. Such friendly people and so helpful in every way! Would definitely recommend and next time we are going to try their luxury glamping pods as they look excellent!! Thankyou Richard & Gill

No showers at this site but there is access to a toilet and sink in the owners house. They can only accept green toilet fluid in their chemical toilet disposal.

You were incredibly friendly and welcomed us warmly into your home. You took my son’s nut allergy seriously and provided us with delicious breakfasts and pizzas. Had a wonderful stay. The pod was very comfortable and well equipped with things like washing up liquid, tea towels, sachets of shampoos, a few coffee pods/teabags. Fantastic views of the highlands and so peaceful. The play park equipment was a hit with our daughters! The owners were friendly and approachable. Highly recommend ordering their pizzas. They were delicious, and freshly made to order. The shared bbq facilities was great too. Couldn’t fault this place at all!

Highly recommend the Folk Museum in Newtonmore. Lots to see, so worth allowing plenty of time to spend here. The coffee shop in Laggan is lovely, and there is a little play park hidden in a little wooded area that our kids enjoyed.

The hosts are wonderful! Beautiful location surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lovely woodland walks and path directly onto east highland way! Nearest village is only 20 mins away with shops and restaurants! Will definitely be back.

Make sure you try the breakfast. The Bircher is wonderful. There’s enough for 2 people in one portion. Croissants are to die for. All made to order and served direct to your room. What more could you ask for!

Well maintained and presented Certified Location with fully serviced pitches. Stunning views all around, to the south, in particular. Toilet for CL users always clean. Stevie and Joan are pleasant, helpful hosts. Pitches are hard standing and level. Grass areas kept tidy and there are even a couple of picnic tables. Highly recommend this site and it is at a standard that should be attained by other CL owners.

Great area for cycling, walking and (if you are interested) fishing. Newtonmore a mere 6 miles away has excellent coffee shops, restaurants and a well stocked Co-op. The Bothy at Laggan village is even closer and is an even better coffee shop with great cakes! Plenty of wildlife in the area to see and the RSPB reserve at Insch Marshes is only 10 miles away. Great CL with views that you will never tire of!

Stunning views. Owners really look after you and helpful. Pizzas delicious. Our week stay was perfect. No TV reception but we streamed with the free WiFi. Clean well kept site. Level hardstanding pitches. The Coffee Bothy in nearby Laggan has home made cakes and sandwiches. So many places to go in that area. Will definitely be returning. Our metred electric only £12 for the week so not bad at all. Plenty of wildlife. We watched 2 buzzards fighting on the ground from our window.

Coffee Bothy at Laggan is recommended. RSPCA reserve at Loch Garten/ Boat of Garten so beautiful.

What a lovely site, well set out large pitches and fully serviced. Lovely large dog field to let them let off steam. 360° panoramic views, great for total relaxation. No TV so firestick would be useful, however the WiFi is very good.

A lovely level site with views over the river valley. Tap and drain on each pitch - luxury! Easy access from the road. Good WiFi signal too!

Roads in the area are a little narrow but at least they aren't single track with passing places! We enjoyed the Newtonmore folk museum.

what a beautiful well maintained CL with large fully serviced hand standing pitches. very welcoming owners, who must be caravaners as they have the CL set out so well. added to the the site is the opportunity to get home made Pizza delivered to your caravan from the owners own Pizza over, a real treat. We will defiantly be returning.

There is no TV reception but the free CL WiFi is sufficient to stream to your i-pad Netflix etc.

Lovely site, with fantastic views. Level pitches and very easy check in and set up. The pitch was pretty level and well drained. Having facilities at your pitch is so much easier too. The owner, Joan, came to see us once we had set up and had a lovely conversation, telling us about the site and how it evolved. We had ordered pizzas for the evening which were hot and delicious, definitely recommend. Also, our dogs loved the exercise area where they could burn off some energy off their leads safely. Would definitely recommend and would use the site again

The road up to the site is fairly narrow, but at a sensible speed is not an issue at all

We had a great welcome from Joan as soon as we arrived, giving us all the information we needed about the site and local area. The fully serviced, clean and well maintained pitch was level so we didn’t need to use ramps. The dog field was a bonus and the dogs had a good run around off lead. The pizza and chips were a real treat.

If you don’t want to drive from the site there are local walks plus I would recommend a walk to the Laggan Coffee and Gallery. They are very dog friendly and the cakes were delicious.

Our price of £25.00 per night is for 2 adults, 2 dogs, a fully serviced hard standing pitch, superfast wi-fi, refuse, recycling and bottle bins, use of a toilet with underfloor heating and a 2 acre dog exercise field. Unfortunately as we only have 5 pitches we do not have the admin facitlites to offer single occupancy pitch discounts as the demand for them is minimal. But as any extra guests would have access to all of the above, we feel a nominal charge of £5.00 is more than fair.

The pods make easy work out of family time away in beautiful surroundings. They are kitted out with everything you need, beds are made up for you and plenty of hot running water to take a refreshing shower. The owners are very welcoming and leave you to it when you’re settled in. Joan’s wood fired pizzas on the night of our arrival were a real treat too!

The pods are handy for lots of outdoor activities. In 3 fun filled days we packed in the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore, Landmark and tubing at the Cairgorm Mountain Range. Lots of walking and mountain biking opportunities on the doorstep too.

Very neat level hard standing pitches. Beautiful location with lovely views. Nice to chat to Joan on arrival. Only downside is the metered electric. It would be good to see the readings on the EHU on arrival and be able to check the usage while on site so that we could get an idea of what it was costing. 🙂

The most perfect site in a stunning location with fantastic views. It really is so peaceful. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Great walking off the site which links to the East Highland Way. We highly recommend this site.

Brilliant peaceful location. Pizza’s are a brilliant idea at the weekend, very tasty indeed. Thank you. Our arthritic 15 year old dog behaved like a puppy for a while in the dog run field. Whatever sniffs are there seem to liven all the dogs up. The field is a great idea to allow free running for dogs. We will be back next year for sure.

When we started talking about taking a tour of Scotland in our caravan, I knew immediately that our route would need to take in a couple of nights at Laggan CL. I had seen the photos and reviews on Facebook and was keen to check it out. It didn’t disappoint. Access is good, the owners are friendly and welcoming and the site and facilities are excellent. We particularly appreciated the free Wifi. I would highly recommend.

Don’t fret about electricity being metered - we only paid £5.94 for our two nights stay.

Superb views directly opposite the site and within easy reach of some stunning walks and climbs, as well local villages and townships. All the facilities are excellent and the fully serviced pitches are an added bonus. Stevie and Joan are delightful and excellent hosts for your stay

Don't miss the simply delightful walk just behind the site, through unspoilt and charming woodlands adjacent to Cluny Castle. A superb 45 minutes to start or end the day, and you may meet the woodland owner, who was born and lived at the castle before it was sold to new owners, currently the Emir of Qatar.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet away from the usual hussle of campsites this is the place to go. Only five pitches so very small , limited facilities so you really need to be self contained but Great walks along the East Highland way, dogs loved it and weather made a huge difference. Definitely recommend .

Make sure you are well stocked up as limited shops nearby etc for provisions.

Excellent stay. There was 5 of us and we had two pods which gave us plenty of space. We stayed for two nights and cooked each night which was super easy as it was a well equipped kitchen. Beautiful view and space to enjoy outside as well as an evening walk. Very clean pods and facilities to keep it that way. Great temperature. We had good space for 3 people. Lower bunk bed is quite space confined if you had to use all beds. We stocked up with food before arriving which is essential. Stunning location! Highly recommended.

Peaceful well equipped site with friendly staff. Ideal location for hiking and touring highland. Didn't get to try the pizza as wasn't there for the weekend unfortunately. Will return.

Take a walk from the campsite up the path opposite the entrance as there is a beautiful woodland and stream up there. Pitches are numbered from 1 to 5, 5 being at end away from entrance.

Just returned home after 7 nights at Tigh an Each CL site. The hospitality and welcome was great. The site was all we had hoped for, great views, huge fully serviced pitches. We took advantage of the pizza delivery and weren't disappointed :-). The dog field was a welcome for our pup to burn off the last bit of energy before peaceful quiet nights. Will definitely be back. And did I mention the views.. awesome ..

Stayed here for two nights on our way north touring in our motorhome. The site was easy to find and beautifully set in amongst some stunning scenery. Each pitch was fully serviced which was super and the hosts were very welcoming and engaging giving us hints and tips on how long to get to places etc. Will use this site again if we are back up that way. We walked to the Laggan Hotel which only 20 mins with a small portion on the road. We passed a farm.which had free range chicken and an honesty box for eggs which we had for breakfast and were delicious. We also took ourselves off for a walk in the hills behind the campsite for 4 hours and had a great day for it..spying a large herd of deer along the way.

This is a beautiful CL immaculately maintained and the owners are caravanners so know what we want. The pitches are well laid out and fully serviced, the owners make a point of introducing themselves and showing the facilities. They offer home made Pizzas which are a must IMO. We will be back!

Easy enough to find, the turning from the main road takes you up a single track for about 200yds but easy enough. Electricity is metered at 36ppKw and our stay in June was £2.66 per day, very reasonable, No terrestrial TV but Stevie will keep you right with streaming on the free Internet which works well, our phone signal on O2 was patchy but wi-fi etc good, we can also recommend the stone fired BBQ pulled pork Pizza!

Stevie and Joan have created one of the best CLs we have ever stayed at. A fully serviced pitch, access to toilet and also WiFi gave us everything and more. We had a very friendly welcome which always goes down well. And the view from the pitch has to be the best ever. We would heartily recommend this site.

There's nowhere near to get provisions so be prepared! When we stayed, the local hotel was not open at lunchtime.
